Established in 1964, the Southern Ontario Orchid Society is a non-profit organization, supported by individuals who share a passion and love of orchids. As part of its mandate, the society is dedicated to worldwide orchid preservation through education, information and financial support of conservation efforts. To date SOOS boasts the largest membership of its kind in Ontario, with members from all walks of life. Meetings are conducted on the first Sunday of every month (with the exception of July and when dates conflict). Guests are welcome to attend.
Relying on a group of dedicated volunteers, the society offers novice and professional orchid growers the opportunity to meet, learn and expand their knowledge through lectures, workshops, seminars and more. Members are encouraged to bring flowering orchid plants for "show & tell." Experienced growers offer their secrets to produce these exquisite beauties. Expert speakers from around the world, share their extensive knowledge, often with slide presentations. We encourage you to attend our next meeting as a guest and invite you to become a member! ...
